WordCamp New York City 2009

We have a chunk of time tomorrow at Mason Hall for lightning sessions from today’s most popular speakers. Want to nominate a speaker you thought was awesome, or one you were super sad to have missed? Let us know in the comments who you want to see tomorrow.

I’ve posted the tentative schedule for Saturday’s track sessions. Please note that we are still finalizing some sessions, and some speakers may need to change time slots due to travel plans, so this is not set in stone. But it’s pretty close. If you haven’t bought your ticket yet, now’s the time. In the next week and a half, the speakers themselves will be posting here about their upcoming WordCamp NYC sessions, so if you haven’t already subscribed to the feed, now’s a good time to do that, too.

The awesome speakers list wasn’t enough to convince you to attend WordCamp NYC? No problem: here’s the preliminary list of Saturday sessions, 59 of them and counting. There also are a handful still in the process of being determined, and these will be added to the list as soon as they are confirmed. Remember, with 8 tracks of content — Newbie, Blogger, CMS/App, Beginner Dev, Advanced Dev, BuddyPress/MU, Academic, Open Source Community — there’s something for everyone.

Right now the list is mostly just a list, but descriptions of each session will be added as the speakers write them.

We’ll create a place to discuss potential unconference sessions (to fill in the programming gaps) here on the site a little closer to the event.

We’re changing the date for this year’s WordCamp from the previously announced date of October 24 to our new dates of November 14-15, 2009. This change is to allow Matt Mullenweg to attend, and to expand the program into a two-day event. We’re also looking for a larger venue, so if you have any leads, check out the venue requirements and let us know.
